NYFW Spring/Summer 2013

Now that the residual eye shadow dust has settled post Spring/Summer 2013 fashion month, Fashion’s Avalanche is taking a fond look back on all our favorite moments. Beginning in New York City, I present the first ever Fashion’s Avalanche Fashion Week Awards, also known as FAFWA, which is pronounced with a French accent. Obviously. ________ Neutrals are necessary for Spring. Nothing feels fresher than stepping away from black ensembles and […]

The Swimsuit

Today, Fashion’s Avalanche brings you a brief report on swimsuits, focusing exclusively on the one-piece. I find they are often overlooked in search of the perfect bikini that will surely look good once you complete that juice fast you’ve been meaning to do, and transform into your ideal summer figure (right?). Ladies, fast no more.  A full coverage suit can be the sexy beach/poolside accessory you’ve been looking for all […]

Spotlight: Kate Spade Armadillo Handbag

As we round the corner from one season to the next, thoughts begin to drift into fantasies of summer activities and past times. Perhaps this is the explanation for why I feel so strongly about getting the Kate Spade Armadillo Handbag onto my arm and frolicking about at a picnic (ASAP). I’m sure the arm candy speaks for itself, but just in case you need some convincing, I will explain in three […]

Pantone Beauty

As most of you design nerds and Pantone enthusiasts are aware, color of the year 2012 has been declared a scorching shade of orange: technically known as Pantone 17-1463, and formally introduced as Tangerine Tango. Being that we are halfway through May, the hue has already inspired an array of  household items, fashion obsessions, and pantone swag in the bright summery shade. The best, or at least most exciting, collaboration […]

Spotlight: Citizens of Humanity Flared Jean

Having kept my eye open for the perfect flare in recent weeks, I had to shine this week’s spotlight on the Devote Rocker Mid-Rise Flared Jean by Citizens of Humanity. The color is dark, the flare is acceptably wide, and the pant remains slim fit until the knees. This last quality is extremely important as I find it hard to rock the flared look while the allure of slender thighs […]

Festival Fashion

I would place a confident bet that planning the attendance of your favorite music festival will involve some universally shared rituals. These may include, but are not limited to: listening to the lineup on repeat, composing road trip playlists, writing (and re-writing) a shopping list of essential supplies, et cetera. For some, preparations extend into an arena beyond music enthusiasm and gravitate towards the major fashion opportunity at hand. What better place to see and be […]

Ashcat Sessions

Devin and Ashcat decided to hike up to Chautauqua Meadow, near Boulder, Colorado for a field recording. Spring is finally here in Colorado, so we got to enjoy some much needed mountain air. Devin played some new tracks for us, and we were just happy to be along for the ride.
